Membership shall be open to any individual, partnership, corporation or firm operating a carwashing establishment in New York state or a neighboring state including, but not limited to, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania or the country of Canada, as well as any person or firm or corporation which sells supplies/equipment/services to any such carwashing establishment.

ORGANIZATION
The New York State Car Wash Association, Inc. is comprised of the following types of members:

• Full-service carwash operators
• Exterior carwash operators
• In-bay automatic carwash operators
• Self-service carwash operators
• Suppliers (vendors, manufacturers, distributors)
• Individuals
• Carwash operators with C-stores
• Carwash operators with gas islands or other profit centers

The NYSCWA's strength comes from the exchange of ideas and information of its members. The board is comprised of representatives of all segments of the membership offering a variety of views which encourage activities and programs benefiting all members. Directors, elected by the membership, serve on a volunteer basis in the best interests of the entire membership. Anyone interested in serving on the board of directors, or on any committee, should contact the association?s secretary or executive director.
 

MEETINGS
The NYSCWA holds three annual general membership meetings in the spring, summer and fall. Meeting locations rotate each year. They are open to the membership as well as non-members in order to provide better insight on the activities of the association, continuing education and networking with those of similar interests.

Group Property/Liability and Workers Compensation Plan
This program is designed to meet the needs of all association members single location as well as multiple location operators.

The Mang Insurance Agency, Clifton Park NY, is the facilitator of the program. Mike Benmosche is the liaison.

• Representation by an experienced lobbyist in Albany. Successful in getting a bill passed to repeal the self-service gross receipts sales tax. Signed into law on August 7, 1997, by Governor George E. Pataki. Effective date December 1, 1997.
